The Numbers Recognition project was developed to process images containing handwritten digits and accurately identify the numbers within them. The system was designed to handle images of digits ranging from 0 to 9, written by various individuals. These handwritten digits were scanned and then fed into the system for processing.
The first stage of the program involved preprocessing the scanned images to isolate and extract the areas containing the digits. This required advanced image processing techniques to detect the approximate locations of the numbers. Once the digits were identified, the next stage employed classifiers to recognize each digit accurately. The system utilized the OpenCV library to manage the complex tasks of image processing and recognition, ensuring reliable detection and classification of the handwritten numbers.
