This project involved the development of an advanced program that visually presents various national flags on the screen, created using Pascal. Initially, the basic requirements were to provide a simple menu where users could change the displayed flags using arrow keys. However, I significantly extended the program’s functionality by implementing a hierarchical menu system. Users could first select a continent and then choose from a nested menu of flags specific to that region. This enhancement greatly increased the program’s complexity, requiring sophisticated algorithmic structures and advanced user interface management. Additionally, the program allows users to type the name of a country directly from the keyboard, and upon pressing enter, the corresponding flag is displayed. This feature provides a more intuitive and interactive user experience. The program dynamically generates and displays flags with accurate colors and proportions, further enhancing my understanding of graphical programming and algorithmic design within the constraints of the Pascal language. This project also offered an opportunity to refine my skills in handling graphics and efficiently managing screen layouts.
